New Jersey Republican National Committeeman Bill Palatucci, one of just a few RNC members to vote against the party’s insane censure of Reps Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney for sitting on the House January 6th Select Committee that called the Capitol riot “legitimate political discourse” on Friday, now finds himself becoming a liability in the House GOP primary race in New Hampshire’s first district, as former Trump White House Deputy Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s campaign is calling on rival Matt Mowers to return a $1,000 donation from Palatucci, the NJ Globe reports.
Palatucci is a close ally of Chris Christie who after the resolution vote on Friday called the party a “circular firing squad,” and complained about pissing away $1.6 million to pay Trump’s legal bills unrelated to his time as president or candidate, making him a natural target for a “RINO” hunt. Mowers, a New Jersey native, was chairman for Christie’s New Hampshire campaign in 2016, before joining the Trump national campaign and then the White House himself as senior White House advisor and chief of staff/policy at the State Department, so he’s no MAGA slouch either.
“Matt Mowers should return every contribution from anyone who does not support President Trump and the America First movement, and then try running in the state that he’s actually from,” said Leavitt campaign spokesworm Chris D’Anna, adding “Mowers’ imploding campaign has been fueled by the anti-Trump movement, including Chris Christie and high-profile donors who support Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.” Leavitt is 24 years old and worked in the Trump White House for nine months between May 2020 and January 2021, per her LinkedIn profile, which also lists a six year stint as “Manager” at “Leavitt’s Ice Cream” in Atkinson New Hampshire, from 2012 to 2018.
