Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in a Facebook post he’s “been informed” Wednesday, February 16 “will be the day of the attack,” calls for a national public holiday called the Day of Unity. “On this day we will put up our national flags, wear blue and yellow ribbons and show the whole world our unity,” CNN’s Jim Sciutto reports.
UPDATE 2/14/22 2:41 PM EST: Zelensky apparently was being sarcastic, according to Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs. “Ukraine’s Zelenskiy spooks markets with what appeared to be a sarcastic comment about the rest of the world predicting a date for a Russian attack, which he said should be a day of unity instead,” tweeted Jacobs.
