Supreme Court tosses Republican challenges to both North Carolina and Pennsylvania Congressional district maps

The Supreme Court rejected requests for stays in the Republican cases against both Pennsylvania and North Carolina’s 2022-2032 district maps on Monday, Dem elections lawyer Marc Elias reports.

The North Carolina ruling came in a 6-3 decision with Alito, Gorsuch, and Thomas dissenting, so it may not be the end of the line for Team MAGA in North Carolina after a state court imposed a 6 safe R/6 safe D/2 toss-up map in February, but the Pennsylvania case appears dead as the Supremes bumped it to a lower court with no dissents noted.
