Russian aircraft struck a theater in downtown Mariupol in which “hundreds of civilians” were taking shelter, Talking Points Memo reports, citing city officials. “It was a building that in peaceful life was a focal point of the city’s cultural spirit, and in wartime became a shelter for hundreds of women and children,” the city council said on Telegram, adding it was “impossible to measure the scale of this horrible and inhumane act, because shelling of residential areas in the city continues.”
