Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington with unspecified flu-like symptoms and is receiving intravenous antibiotics, the Supreme Court announced Sunday night, the New York Times reports.
The longest-serving justice on the Court, the 74-year-old Thomas was nominated by George HW Bush in 1991. He has been a stalwart conservative on the court.
Thomas has been facing multiple attacks in recent weeks after it was disclosed that his wife, Ginny, a fixture in far-right political activism who earned income from conservative think tanks Thomas failed to mention in his financial disclosures for more than a decade, attended rallies the preceded the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress.
