More than 3,000 flights around the United States were canceled this weekend, primarily due to storms violent weather along the East Coast causing shut downs and delays at many major airports, NBC News reports.
JetBlue, Southwest, Alaska Airlines, Frontier, Spirit and American Airlines were most affected, with airports from Florida to Baltimore shutting down at various times due to heavy rains and high winds.
While some domino effect delays are still occurring as airlines shuffle planes to prepare for routes, most delays were remedied by Sunday afternoon.
