Thomas Middlebrooks, the federal judge for the Southern District of Florida, rejected Donald Trump’s motion to recuse himself from Trump’s self-indulgent, overarching lawsuit against Hillary Clinton because Middlebrooks was appointed to the federal bench by her husband, Politico reports.
“When Plaintiff is a litigant before a judge that he himself appointed, he does not tend to advance these same sorts of bias concerns,” Middlebrooks wrote, citing two of Trump’s failed lawsuits that were heard, and dismissed, by judges Trump appointed.
In the final kicker, Middlebrooks noted that he was unanimously approved by the Senate when his confirmation was submitted.
