“Ah, they’re so excited, they’re giddy with excitement!  ‘We got ‘im!  It’s just like Watergate!  That’s it!  We finally got ‘im!'” Trump advisor and Lego stunt double Sean Hannity emotes.  “The story was totally bogus.  None of that rampant speculation on these fake news networks turned out to be true, but yet again, none of these media hacks ever apologize or correct the record.  They just move on to the next group of lies.  This is why I’ve been saying since 2007, right here on this program:  Journalism in America is dead, done, gone and buried.”

Once again, the projection here is textbook.  But there’s a lot to parse here:

First, let’s start with Hannity saying the phone log story is a hoax, when he was using the fact that the White House announced it provided the complete phone logs to investigators to tout this.  He neglects to mention that the log turned over had a 457-minute gap in it.  He also doesn’t understand that while that’s the official record, we know from testimony of those who were in the White House and who spoke with Donald Trump that it was not a complete record.

Second, where’s Hannity’s apology to Hillary Clinton for reporting–as fact–that Clinton was on her deathbed, or ordered the murder of dozens of associates, or slept while Benghazi was attacked, or that she was using her Foundation’s money corruptly, or… christ, he should apologize to everyone for his entire program based simply on the amount of bullshit he slings nightly.

So yes, Sean.  American journalism is dead.  You and your colleagues at Fox killed it.
