Democratic Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen suffered a minor stroke this weekend, reportedly while delivering a speech in western Maryland and has been admitted to George Washington Hospital where he will be under observation for the next few days.
In a tweet, Van Hollen says that he felt lightheaded while giving the speech and at the suggestion of the Senate physician, sought medical care and an angiogram found a small venous tear in the back of his head. Van Hollen reports that he is feeling fine.
The report comes on the same day as Pennsylvania Lt. Governor and Democratic candidate for the Senate John Fetterman reported he, too, suffered a stroke and is recovery.
