Buffalo MAGA terrorist Payton Gendron and Waukesha parade massacre driver Darrell Brooks Jr
Open up another tab on NationalZero.com and click on the little magnifying glass in the top righthand corner of the page. Type in “VoterRecords.com” and you’ll find 18 records of articles linked to that site, which draws from the public voter databases in 19 states. We use it to identify the party affiliations of assholes in those states (but mostly Florida) when reporting on their misbehavior. Now, it’s probably easy enough to believe that a registered Republican is more likely than a registered Democrat to blow himself up while building a homemade bomb in his garage or call in a terrorist threat to the US Supreme Court over the vax mandate decision (just a day before they blocked it). More importantly, their party is at least somewhat relevant to the actual story.
But we were definitely stretching it in some other examples. Like did it really matter that all those DUI suspects in and around the Villages, Florida that we reported on back in January were Republican? Did it mean anything that the one guy who got beaten up by his bodybuilder wife in the Villages last year is a Republican? Not really, no. Can we explain why we would do it, other than to add some tenuous political color to otherwise absurdist coverage of dumb news? No.
Well, actually…
Back in November Darrell Brooks Jr, a Black man from Waukesha, Wisconsin with a history of violence, was in his car fleeing cops chasing him from the scene of a domestic disturbance. He came across a Christmas parade and plowed through the crowd, killing six – five of them women in their 50s, 70s, and 80s and one six year old boy – all of the victims white. Police say Brooks aimed to inflict “maximum carnage” upon the parade, but did not appear to be racially motivated.
Some reporter from Breitbart went ahead and listened to Brooks’s no doubt shitty rap songs on SoundCloud and find examples of anti-white (and anti-Trump) lyrics and thus you get the article pictured above. They don’t say that Brooks was motivated by anti-white hate, they just report on his history, knowing their audience is going to connect the dots for them. That’s what they do.
And we do our part to reciprocate. If some asshole probably high on PCP or some shit, all twisted in a rage over being pursued by cops and punching his girlfriend runs over white people becomes a “BLM terrorist attack” because his stupid rap songs had some fairly tame anti-white content in them, then the Florida teacher who self-canceled after being caught sending nude to a cop pretending to be a teenage boy was attracted to children because he’s a Republican. Does that really make sense? No, but at least we’re going to be honest with our readers about it here.
The reactions on the right so far to the Saturday MAGA terrorist attack in Buffalo – perpetrated by a white nationalist teenager obsessed with the “Great Replacement” theory and Critical Race Theory – are either nonexistent or the tasteless “Well ackshually, libs…” type horseshit above. So fucking what if Fox News wasn’t extreme enough for him. Does that somehow negate Tucker Carlson pushing replacement theory? Do their own rules on how to handle and cover violent attacks on innocent people suddenly not apply here? This is seriously the best they can do?

Now there’s obviously no surprise on our part that they’re reacting like this or not at all. Who thinks they’re going to honestly confront the right wing propaganda machine they built and maintain to reckon with the fact that they’re 100% responsible for a white supremacist terror attack that left ten people dead? But even just something, anything approaching an acknowledgement of “We need to do better. The left did not cause this. It’s at least partially on us. We’re going to have to make some changes,” would actually surprise us. Probably why it won’t happen.
Because God forbid they end up publicly confronting one small detail about the attack on the shooter’s motives – Spotted on the livestream video, scrawled on the shooter Payton Gendron’s gun was a name: Virginia Sorenson. One of the women killed by Darrell Brooks Jr in November.
Our hearts are with the victims of the shooting in Buffalo and their families. Every life destroyed by the savage byproducts of the right wing’s war on democracy must be avenged. Turn out and crush the Republican Party at the ballot box, make them pay the wages of these sins.
