South African white supremacist pastor and leader of the “National Christian Resistance Movement”, aka the “Crusaders”, Harry Johannes Knoesen was convicted Monday over his group’s plot to overthrow the government and begin a genocidal campaign against Blacks, News24 reports.
Knoesen, 64, was arrested by National Police in 2019 and charged with high treason, incitement to carry out violent attacks, recruiting people to commit attacks, and unlawful possession of firearms after authorities were alerted to his group’s plan for “attacks on military and police installations as well as on informal settlements occupied by African persons,” per Colonel Katlego Mogale of the “Hawks” unit of the South African National Police. Two of Knoesen’s accomplices pleaded guilty in December and testified against him in court at trial, each received eight year sentences in exchange for flipping. Knoessen himself faces sentencing Friday. Sucks for him.
