Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, invited Trump campaign lawyer John Eastman to address a group she was organizing one month after the election on the efforts he was undertaking to negate the people’s vote in the November 2020 election, the Washington Post reports.
This latest disclosure demonstrates Ginni Thomas apparently had a greater understanding of the efforts the Trump campaign was undertaking to overturn the 2020 election. The information expands on previously disclosed information that Ginni Thomas and Eastman had communicated on election interference.
In the earlier report, Eastman noted an invitation he received from a group with a “high-profile leader” to discuss an undisclosed topic. Current reporting says the invitation included an agenda in which Eastman would discuss “State legislative actions that can reverse the media-called election for Joe Biden.”
The new information more closely connects Ginni Thomas to the official Trump campaign effort to undermine the results of the 2020 election. After the communications of Mark Meadows, Trump’s chief of staff, were released from the time around January 6th, many communications came from Ginni Thomas who was pushing for the coup; those communications seemed like an aberration. But with early communications between Ginni Thomas and Donald Trump’s lawyer raise questions about how much she knew.
