Michael Stenger, who was the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms at the time of the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress in 2021, died Monday morning, numerous news sources report. Stenger retired from his position the day after the attack.
Stenger served in the Marines, rising to the rank of captain, before leaving to join the US Secret Service, where he had a 35-year career. He became 41st Sergeant-at-Arms of the United States Senate in 2017.
