Democrats and Republicans are tied at 46% each on the “If the elections for Congress were being held today, which party’s candidate would you vote for in your Congressional district?” question of this month’s CNN/SSRS poll, an improvement for Dems over the 47 – 42 GOP lead found in May.
CNN politics guy Ron Brownstein points out that Democrats still get support from “19% of voters who disapprove of Biden – exactly the same result as recent NYT/Siena poll. In ’18, Rs won only 8% of Trump disapprovers. That decoupling gives Ds a mid-term path-if it can last.”
