Last week Pennsylvania Congressman Glenn Thompson was among the 157 Republicans who voted against protecting same-sex marriage from the extremists on the Supreme Court, with his press secretary saying the bill was “nothing more than an election-year messaging stunt for Democrats in Congress who have failed to address historic inflation and out of control prices at gas pumps and grocery stores,” as if that was a reason to vote no while it was in front of him either way.
Now NBC News reports Thompson went ahead and attended his son’s wedding to another man on Friday. The same press secretary told NBC Thompson and his wife “were thrilled to attend and celebrate their son’s marriage on Friday night as he began this new chapter in his life,” adding the Thompsons are “very happy” to welcome their new son-in-law “into their family.”
