Former Trump White House aide/ketchup cleaner Cassidy Hutchinson has been cooperating with Justice Department officials investigating (but definitely not targeting) disgraced former President Trump’s actions (and not Trump himself), ABC News reports. We also said “officials” and not “prosecutors” there because there’s no evidence they’re prosecutors and it would be utter malpractice to make such an inference. They could be just paralegals or interns asking her the questions. And how do we know they were even asking her questions?
What if it was like Jeopardy and these Justice Department paralegal interns said “The amount of times Mark Meadows burned incriminating evidence” and Hutchinson responded with “What is to the best of my knowledge at least seven that I had witnessed personally?” We would look like total assholes if we just went ahead and jumped to conclusions about the nature of the cooperation without considering that it was more like a game show than an interview with federal paralegals.
