Georgia’s Secretary of State has ordered many of the voting and tabulation machines in a southern county to be replaced after their internal systems were accessed illegally with the help of a county elections official trying to find proof of the election fraud Donald Trump and his cabal claimed, Reuters reports.
Brad Raffensperger ordered the voting machines in Coffee County, Georgia to be replaced after video showed Cathy Latham, the head of the Coffee County Republican Party and a county elections official, leading a group of self-proclaimed forensic examiners working with Donald Trump lawyer Sidney “The Kraken” Powell into the county elections office.
“To allay the fears being stoked by perennial election deniers and conspiracy theorists, we’re replacing Coffee County’s election machines,” Raffensperger said in a statement on Friday. The Coffee County incident is part of larger grand jury investigation into efforts Donald Trump made to undermine the integrity of the 2020 election results, which declared and certified Joe Biden won Georgia.
