Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decided it’s time to declare a state of emergency for the state of Florida, not because of its high cost of living, its crappy healthcare system, or its politically-endorsed crimes (like kidnapping and child sex trafficking). This time, it’s to prepare for Tropical Storm Ian to make landfall later this week, the Associated Press reports.
Eager to rake in tens of millions of federal dollars so he can misappropriate funds to pull off political performance art rather than help the citizens of the state, DeSantis had previously requested a federal emergency declaration, which President Joe Biden–treating all states equally even if one’s headed by an idiotic partisan who enjoys making people suffer–signed Saturday, even before DeSantis’s statewide declaration.
A popular target of natural and man-made disasters, Florida is also a waystation for asylum seekers in Texas coerced into boarding a plane to fly them to an unspecified location in the country. As a sign of God’s wrath for the governor’s deceit and lies, it’s a popular hurricane target.
