Secret Service leadership in July 2022 confiscated and handed over two dozen agents’ phones to the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general as part of the investigation into the events surrounding the January 6th, 2021 Capitol insurrection, NBC News reports.
The Secret Service agents, possibly loyal to disgraced former President Trump, were reportedly pissed they had to comply with the order so quickly after DHS IG Joseph Cuffari announced a criminal investigation into the missing text messages on the days surrounding the failed attempt to overturn a legitimate presidential election. The agency has been under a cloud of suspicion for so quickly deleting relevant information about one of the darkest days in its history, more so now that Trump loyalist Tony Ornato has quickly retired and still has not testified under oath to contradict the explosive testimony of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. Trump fanboys should be annoyed with that one, that a supposed patriot did not do anything to dispute the embarrassing story about him having a meltdown in the presidential SUV and attacking an agent.
