A Lt Colonel in the Massachusetts Army National Guard is likely under investigation after he tailgated a tour bus full of senior citizens from Tennessee thinking they were migrants being sent from Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis, the Cape Cod Times reports. On September 19th, Lt Colonel Christopher Hoffman, 51, live-streamed on Facebook his 10 mile pursuit of the bus – while praising DeSantis to his audience – which he thought was from Florida because it said “Tallahassee” on the side somewhere. Hoffman forced himself on board at their hotel in Falmouth, apparently wanting to confront whom he thought were Venezuelans because something something it was unfair that some Afghan he worked with back in 2010 is still stuck there.
“He harassed us to death,” said bus owner/driver Michael Vaughn. “Everybody was scared to death.” Hoffman sheepishly left after seeing the passengers were, in fact, old people from Tennessee and is now probably facing a misconduct investigation from his command. “The Massachusetts National Guard considers the conduct of this soldier to be inappropriate and inconsistent with our military values,” Massachusetts Army National Guard chief Colonel Mark Kalin said in a statement. “We are currently working to ensure our service member is evaluated and receives any services he may need, while also reviewing appropriate disciplinary actions. The incident is currently under investigation and no further information is available at this time.”
