Faced with still soft numbers for Republicans in midterm races and the national generic ballot, the MAGA party’s allies in Russia and Saudi Arabia moved Wednesday to increase gas prices by with just over a month to go before election day, Bloomberg reports. The production cut of 2 million barrels a day seems drastic, but Bloomberg crunched the numbers and estimates that the net cut will be actually less than half that – 880,000 barrels per day – given that several countries in the cartel were already pumping well below their quotas. Then there’s that daily global oil consumption is estimated at 88 million barrels a day in 2022, so we’re looking at a grand total 1% supply cut.
