A top lieutenant of Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio took a plea deal in June and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors against the others charged with seditious conspiracy over the role in the failed attempt to help disgraced former President Trump overturn the 2020 election, the Washington Post reports based on the statements of Tarrio’s defense lawyer in a Friday court hearing.
The admission from Tarrio’s lawyer Sabino Jauregui that Pennsylvania Proud Boy John Charles Stewart had turned against the other Boys was apparently accidental, as DC District Judge Timothy J Kelly then immediately halted the public session to go behind closed doors. No further mention of Stewart’s cooperation deal was made when court reconvened. Them Boys ain’t right.
