Leading Brazilian Datafolha projects former Brazilian President Luiz Lula has defeated incumbent autocratic President Jair Bolsonaro, Reuters reports. Lula was sitting at a full percentage point lead with 90% of the vote tallied Sunday evening, according to an update from Bloomberg as they tracked an election that came much closer than had been expected over the course of the year and the first round in which Lula led with 48 percent to Bolsonaro’s 43 percent.
