The House January 6th Select Committee on Friday interviewed the Secret Service agent who was in the lead car of fat former President Trump’s motorcade after he incited his cult at the Ellipse on January 6th, 2021, and next week will also question the driver of the SUV in which Donald tried to grab the steering wheel when told they wouldn’t be taking him to the Capitol, CNN reports.
The testimony should finally put to rest the made-up controversy over former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s June testimony about Donald’s screaming meltdown inside the SUV. “The President reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards [Secret Service agent] Bobby Engel,” Hutchinson testified on June 28th, after which Engel and another Trump loyalist on the Secret Service claimed through media it didn’t happen and supposedly offered to testify again, they had already been interviewed by the Committee by that point and had not offered any information about the scuffle, which they never followed through with.
