Iranians claim successful satellite launch

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Saturday launched a new satellite-carrying rocket as the regime there tries to demonstrate its power amid civil unrest, the AP reports citing state TV, which did not actually show any footage of the supposed successful launch. The IRNA state news agency reported that the rocket would be able to put a satellite weighing 176 lbs into a 310 mile orbit.
