Already caving to pressure from the far-right radicals in his Party, presumptuous future Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy stated that he would exclude several Democrats from House Committees in obvious retaliation for banning Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from committees after she threatened the lives of three members of Congress.

According to NBC News, McCarthy said he would exclude Democrat Ilhan Omar of Minnesota from the Foreign Affairs Committee for “anti-Semitic and anti-American” stances; Omar is a critic of Israeli government policies, which simpleminded people like McCarthy confuse with being anti-Semitic like the GOP base.  McCarthy will also block Adam Schiff from the Intelligence Committee because Donald Trump’s panties are in a wad about being impeached twice.

McCarthy also said he would ban California’s Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee; Republicans have used the fact that Swalwell dated a woman who was later discovered in 2015 to be a Chinese agent.  Swalwell ended the relationship, but Republicans claim that the relationship–which Swalwell ended upon being told of the woman connections and prior to when he was on the Intelligence Committee–is enough to exclude him from the committee.  McCarthy has not mentioned if any of the Republicans who spent July 4th, 2017 in Moscow at the Kremlin will be excluded from other committees.

McCarthy kowtowing to the base revenge fantasies of far right-wingers signals a weak speakership should he ascend to the seat, assuming he receives the caucus’s vote, shows that he’s unable to stand up to the extreme wing’s demands.  By caving to the far right’s demands and playing the performance art they demand, McCarthy dooms his speakership to jumping at their whims.
