Two Russian airbases far from the Ukrainian border were hit with drone strikes on Monday, with one attack about 370 miles from Ukraine damaging at least two Tu-95 bombers and another killing at least three people in a parking lot at a base about 125 miles outside of Moscow, Politico EU reports.
Kyiv did not claim responsibility for the attacks but didn’t deny it either. “Who has done that? Two strategic bombers are being damaged. There are dead and wounded. [We are] grieving,” wrote Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat on Facebook.
