“Pursuant to A.R.S. § 12-349, Governor-Elect Katie Hobbs applies for an order awarding her reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred in defense of this action. The definite fees and expenses sought to be recovered equals $83,725.50; the estimated additional fees sought to be recovered equals $550,210.00.” So begins the motion filed Monday by Democratic Arizona Governor-elect Katie Hobbs seeking reimbursement from crybaby loser Republican election denier Kari Lake and her lawyers for legal services used by Hobbs to fight Lake’s challenges.
In a separate motion filed Monday, Maricopa County sought reimbursement for an additional $25,050 from Lake for the costs of its legal efforts to certify the election, as well as for counsel secured by an outside lawyer. As lawyers in the case have noted, the judge stated at the beginning of the case that Lake and her attorneys had to prove that printer malfunctions at voting locations on Election Day were intentional; that they impacted the ability of voters to cast a ballot; that the intent of the plot by county officials was to alter the outcome of the election and that it did, in fact, alter the outcome of the election. Lake and her team, the motions assert, did not prove any of those elements.
