Tuesday is going to be a big day in the anxious, years-long wait for accountability for disgraced former President Trump and his minions, as a Fulton County, Georgia judge will determine whether or not to make public the final report on the special grand jury investigation into the failed attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state, most notably the orange bastard’s famously insane “Find me 11,780” votes call attempting to intimidate Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Obviously libs will be hoping for Judge Robert McBurney to immediately release the report in full and would react angrily to any decision to withhold its no doubt damning contents. However if Los Angeles Times legal contributor Harry Litman’s take on the matter is to be credited, Blues should definitely be happier if it doesn’t become public. “State law dictates publication unless judge finds the report is a ‘presentment’ under Georgia law, essentially that is it tantamount to a proposed indictment, not just a report for DA Fani Willis’s consumption,” Litman writes.

Meaning that the chances for an indictment are actually stronger than if the report is published in full and leaving Willis with more work to do when a second grand jury is impaneled to consider bringing charges. “If it is published, expect things to move very fast [because the] DA won’t want moss to grow under doc outlining whole case,” Litman writes. So while obviously a release of the report doesn’t close the door on charges, not to mention it’ll be full of entertaining lowlights about the shitshow in late 2020-early 2021, do not freak out if it stays under wraps. Be even more excited.
