The commenter evidently still subscribes to the moronic “Trump was President so he was allowed to take whatever he wanted” canard, a line of bullshit predicated on the false assertion that Trump declassified the documents he stole from the White House prior to leaving office – or that he didn’t need to formally do so because he could “declassify just by saying it’s declassified, even by thinking about it,” and therefore Trump innocent while both Biden (and now Pence) are criminally liable as former vice presidents. It was a pretty fucking dumb take even before a still-valid 2009 Obama executive order extending declassification powers to the Vice President resurfaced last week.
