Newly uncovered audio of Wisconsin Trump 2020 campaign chair Andrew Iverson and other Republicans two days after the disgraced former President’s defeat in the state reveals the assholes acknowledging the loss but still “on standby if there’s any stunts we need to pull,” the AP reports.
“Here’s the deal: Comms is going to continue to fan the flame and get the word out about Democrats trying to steal this election. We’ll do whatever they need. Just be on standby if there’s any stunts we need to pull,” Iverson, now the the RNC’s Midwest regional director, said in the recording. “At the end of the day, this operation received more votes than any other Republican in Wisconsin history. Say what you want, our operation turned out Republican or DJT supporters. Democrats have got 20,000 more than us, out of Dane County and other shenanigans in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Dane. There’s a lot that people can learn from this campaign.”
Iverson said he was impressed with how well Democrats had done with turning out Black voters in the state. “We ever talk to Black people before? I don’t think so,” he said to laughter. The audio contains no allegations of fraud or insistence that Trump “won” the state, as it was recorded on during that brief liminal window in the immediate aftermath of the election in which Republicans had been hoping for Donald to simply concede, before they spent the next nine weeks getting (mostly willingly) sucked into an apocalyptic and futile quest to overturn the loss.
