NBC News reports Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been hospitalized after falling at a private dinner being held at a Washington hotel Wednesday night.

“This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment,” a spokesman for the 81-year-old Senator for Kentucky said. Additional details of his condition were unavailable.
