Sixty-five Ukrainian soldiers learning how to operate and maintain Patriot anti-missile systems in Oklahoma are days away from finishing the main part of their training, signaling Ukrainian defenders could be weeks away from deploying the US-built system, CNN reports.
The troops will be sent to a US base in Germany to get further training on two types of Patriot systems: one built for American usage and one sold to Germany and the Netherlands. The Patriots will help defend Ukrainian cities against the periodic Russian missile attacks targeting civilian populations.
