In what state media is spinning as “an emergency release of an air ordnance,” a Russian warplane dropped a bomb on the city of Belgorod – 25 miles outside of Ukraine – late Thursday, CNN reports.
“It happened at the intersection of one of the central streets, leaving a huge impact crater with a radius of 20 meters,” wrote Belgorod regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. At least two people were “injured” in the explosion, which would seem to indicate that it was actually worse.
