“How do you respect the man?” conservative gadfly Steven Crowder asks his now ex-wife in a Ring security camera footage obtained by journalist Yashar Ali. The three minutes of footage, the longer of the two sections available here, show Crowder berating his very pregnant spouse for failing to do “wifely things” to persuade him to assist with household chores.
The video was released two days after Crowder, who has more than five million followers on YouTube, announced the couple’s 2021 divorce on his channel this week. (Yes, you read that right: just this week, he acknowledged a divorce that happened in 2021 and then spent two years telling everyone how spectacularly fantastic his Alpha Male lifestyle worked) Saying he did not want the divorce, per Jezebel Crowder took to the mic claiming that his wife should not be allowed to divorce such a peach of a guy, but Texas law allows for a no-fault divorce. Given the video evidence, his wife likely could have sued on the basis of abuse and been granted the decree. But the tape does give Crowder the leg up on the newly open primetime slot on Fox’s cable network.
