In an ominous warning to the citizens who simply did their civic duty, the judge in E. Jean Carroll’s victorious lawsuit against sexual predator Donald Trump thanked the jury for their service but warned them to protect their identities and themselves, CNN reports.
“My advice to you is not to identify yourselves. Not now and not for a long time,” Judge Lewis Kaplan said. “If you’re one who elects to speak to others and to identify yourselves to others, I direct you not to identify anyone else who sat on this jury. Each of you owes that to the other whatever you decided for yourself.”
Kaplan’s advice stems from threats–veiled and otherwise–members of the MAGA cult, including Donald Trump himself, have made against jurists, prosecutors, witnesses and others in the various legal troubles Trump has caused.
