Say what you will about how everything Republicans don’t like is “woke.” At least the word is fungible enough where only on the outermost bounds of logic and imagination – like when Trump said Mo Brooks was “woke” for telling Donald to stop whining about losing the 2020 election or when Aaron Rodgers called COVID-19 vaccines “woke” – do the most moronic and risible examples stick out. And even then you can still kind of see it as being interchangeable with “liberal” or “leftist” in those very stupid contexts. But here, where Boebert probably wanted to say “bullshit” or something similar, she said “fake news” without realizing that they’re not, in fact, always interchangeable.
This almost wasn’t even the dumbest thing she said either. At the end of this very brief clip, she “yielded” to fellow white nationalist Andy Biggs, forgetting she’s not in a committee hearing but at a fucking press conference where she could talk more or less as long as she wanted to.
Or it might’ve been when she said “I think that there should be a process that’s discussed to have an open rule and offer amendments. We fought extensively to empower each individual member to have a say, not unilaterally give our authority over to the speaker to negotiate a bad deal,” which actually described exactly what every Congressional majority does when they elect a Speaker.
