Jim Trusty, one of Donald Trump’s expansive and yet stretched legal team, notified the court that he will no longer represent indicted accused felon Donald Trump in Trump’s baseless $475 million defamation lawsuit against CNN, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports.
Trusty wrote a 27-page letter for Trump threatening to sue CNN for using the words “racist” and insurrectionist” when describing his speech and actions, as well as comparing him to Adolf Hitler; the lawsuit was filed in December 2022. Given that Trusty withdrew from the Mar-a-Lago documents case a week ago, it’s unclear which, if any, of Trump’s multitude of ongoing cases Trusty remains active in.
