Owen (don’t call me Vern) Shroyer, Alex Jones’s sidekick on his InfoWars conspiracy crockpot, has changed his plea in his trial on charges stemming from his part in the Republican-led January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress and is expected to plead guilty on Friday to charges laid out in a plea deal, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports.
During an earlier court appearance after his 2021 arrest, Shroyer tried everything under the sun to get Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, to drop the two misdemeanor charges he faced. He compared himself to Jesus Christ and the Dalai Lama, claiming that his actions were peaceful. Then he claimed he was invited into the Capitol by police officers. And then he attempted to convince the judge he was acting as a journalist and simply reporting the event…. except he is on video in the Capitol yelling, “Today we march for the Capitol because on this historic January 6, 2021, we have to let our Congressmen and women know, and we have to let Mike Pence know, they stole the election, we know they stole it, and we aren’t going to accept it!”
