A Michigan judge on Wednesday ruled that the crew of “Stop the Steal” dipshits who were found to be in possession of a Dominion Voting Systems ballot tabulator last year were violating the law when they ascertained it for their “forensic examination” Mike Lindell fantasy bullshit without authorization from a court or the Secretary of State’s office, the Detroit News reports.
Special prosecutor DJ Hilson sought the ruling ahead of expected charges against failed 2022 Republican Attorney General candidate Matt DePerno, racist Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf, former state House Representative Daire Rendon, and their other co-conspirators ahead of their expected indictment for possessing the machine, delivered to them by parties unknown from a town within Rendon’s district. One of the potential defendants had claimed in a letter to Hilson that Michigan law “allows any person to have possession of voting tabulating machines if the possession was obtained by consent.” DePerno had told the Detroit News the same in an interview.
So while this headline and lede might’ve elicited a “no shit, of course they shouldn’t have a stolen tabulator in their possession,” the upshot is now Hilson doesn’t have to prove it was actually stolen and/or try to prosecute the theft itself. Which makes his job of making the case in front of a jury and ultimately putting these MAGA assholes behind bars a hell of a lot easier.
