Republican Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody seemed, well, moody in a letter sent to the Justice Department demanding it call of the dogs on GOP Governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis in its potential investigation of potential crimes in his program shipping migrants to northern or California cities to “own the libs,” Politico reports.
California’s Democratic governor and attorney general, as well as the Sheriff of Bexar County, Texas (home of San Antonio), send a letter to the Justice Department asking for a federal investigation into the flights, saying that the migrants were deceived into boarding the planes with lies about jobs and housing already set up for them.
“[California Governor Gavin Newsom and California Attorney General Rob Bonta] take aim at the State of Florida because Florida’s governor is running for president and is among the front runners to be nominated to run against the current president,” Moody wrote. “The two most senior elected Democrats in California evidently do not believe that the current president can win re-election against Gov. DeSantis. Instead, they hope that DOJ can be improperly utilized, yet again, against a Republican presidential candidate during an election.”
