We’ll pass for the moment on questioning the judgment of a supposed “Christian” organization using a proven-in-court propagandist to serve as a legitimate journalist/moderator for the forum, and we’ll concentrate on Sherwin-Williams’ model for the “Chalk” shade, Republican presidential candidate Mike Pence surprisingly being the only conservative in the room with a modest grip on reality.
After Kremlin-friendly misogynist and Musk lapdog Tucker Carlson makes false assertions–curiously close to what Russian propagandists have circulated in the last few months–claiming Ukraine banned a Church that “thought differently” than the government, Pence puts some facts before the audience. As detailed on National Zero previously, Ukrainian officials detained some clergy from a once-Moscow-loyal sect of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continued those loyalties after the sect realigned to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church following the Russian invasion of the country.
These clergy voiced support for the invasion; were found to have passports and other materials that may have assisted the invasion; and were assisting Russian efforts after the invasion. In fact, the Church is *so* not banned in Ukraine that an abbey of Moscow-loyal monks has been holed up in a revered monastery in downtown Kyiv since the beginning of the war…. and the government hasn’t tried to Rudy Ridge them. In fact, UNESCO and the Zelenskyy government has negotiated with the monks–who are will occupying the site despite a government eviction order–to remove and protect priceless relics, a move Moscow propagandists have characterized as “looting” or “stealing.”
