Hurricane Lee, which jumped to a Category 5 storm earlier this week before calming down to a Cat 3, will bounce out to the north Atlantic without making landfall in the United States, CNN reports.
Communities along the Southeast US on the Atlantic coast can expect rough surf and strong tides. As the storm traveled to its north, Puerto Rico saw waves up to 20 feet high, with authorities ordering people out of the surf due to the waves and the riptides.
