The GOP intraparty race to become Speaker of the House has taken a major hit as Pennsylvania Republican Dan Meuser announced that he’s dropping out of the race, less than twelve hours after the initial report that he was vying for the post, according to WHTM ABC-27 in Harrisburg.
As the House approaches the start of its third week without a Speaker, eight people on the ballot who will never get the 217 votes needed from Republicans to get the position.
