After weeks of Houthi rebels in Yemen firing missiles and using drones to harass commercial shipping and a US Navy warship, the Biden Administration contacted its allies to add strength to an international task force assigned to keep channels open, the Washington Post reports.
On Saturday, Houthi leaders said they would attack any shipping that might stop in Israel without stopping to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. But significant attacks started in mid-October with the Houthi launching Iranian-supplied drones and missiles from Yemen, with the latest happening Saturday after a French vessel downed two drones.
