Russian defector and discredited Biden sexual assault accuser Tara Reade on Wednesday filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Justice Department, claiming “infliction of emotional distress and anxiety” and alleging a federal grand jury had subpoenaed Twitter in June of 2020 for her personal account records, “disruptions” to her bank accounts,” and that the government is responsible for a manuscript of her book went missing from FedEx in November of 2020, Fox News reports.
“The United States should not have a two-tiered justice system,” said Reade’s attorney Jonathan Levy in a statement to Fox News. “If President Trump and Mr Giuliani can be assessed tens of millions in damages for their words – a weaponized FBI that seeks to silence, intimidate and eliminate Joe Biden’s victim, Tara Reade, must also be held accountable – failing to do so means our justice and legal system has become an instrument of political oppression and suppression.”
So weird how nothing about this alleged subpoena came out with that “Twitter Files” circlejerk back in 2022 since that was all about FBI interference in the platform’s operations before Elon Musk bought it. Also weird how the subpoena, which Fox News says was included in the complaint so maybe it was real (but of course Fox News didn’t link the complaint itself and we can’t find it anywhere), was issued during the Trump Administration but her lawyer is bitching about Donald and Rudy getting hosed by juries in their respective defamation trials. Also very weird how Reade defected to Russia and isn’t going to show up in court herself if there’s ever a hearing in this case.
Just going to throw this out there but if we assume that if federal prosecutors really did subpoena the pre-Musk Twitter for Reade’s private messages and what not there’s a good chance that this was for purposes similar to when they told them that Hunter’s laptop was a foreign interference plot meant to tip the 2020 election to Trump. Meaning they just miiiiiiight have been looking at Reade to see if she was getting paid by the Russians to make her false sexual assault accusation against Joe Biden to turn women voters off from him. Fox News specifically mentions a “FISA warrant” in their article, a favorite MAGA McGuffin of the early Trump-Russia investigation era.
Also going to throw out that of course the powers that be – Fox News, Russia, Reade herself – that want to see Trump elected again in November might as well try to squeeze a few drops of lemonade out of a sour, shitty lemon from four years ago. They’ve got nothing to lose.
