This is what can happen when people vote: Fearful that the state Supreme Court’s new Democratic majority would craft maps that would lead to bigger losses, the Republican-dominated Wisconsin legislature agreed to accept maps drawn by Democratic Governor Tony Evers that would virtually assure GOP losses in future elections, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Republicans currently have a 22-10 majority in the Wisconsin Senate and a 64-35 majority in the Legislature. The new maps won’t necessarily completely overtake that dominance, which they’ve enjoyed for more than a decade after having manipulated the district maps from the 2010 Census.
