Florida Republican Governor and guy who’s only tall enough for about half the rides at the amusement park Ron DeSantis has appointed to oversee the upcoming election in Orange County the same appointee he installed to oversee the Disney tourism district, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Glen Gilzean, the head of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District which DeSantis created to try to screw over the Disney Corporation for standing up for human rights, will take on the position, which pays $205,000 for a job that runs only until all positions on the ballot are filled by valid candidates, typically ending in January.
Gilzean currently makes more than $400,000 as the head of the tourism district; it’s not clear if he will resign from the district or if he will hold both jobs simultaneously. The former head of the CEO of the Central Florida Urban League, Gilzean has no experience in either property management or election oversight.
