Prosecutors in Arizona have been issuing grand jury subpoenas in their investigation into the Trump 2020 fake electors scam in the state, a sign Politico says indicates “that Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, is nearing a decision on whether to charge Trump’s allies in the state, including GOP activists who falsely posed as presidential electors in December 2020.”
It’s not clear yet if fat former President Trump himself could face charges. Though he was ultimately indicted in Georgia along with the ringleaders of the plot in that state, similar prosecutions in Michigan and Nevada led by the state Attorneys General focused only on the fake electors.
