Completely misreading the country by saying it “doesn’t want to have to go through prosecuting a former president,” Republican Utah Senator and man who starches his briefs Mitt Romney said that he would have pardoned Donald Trump if he were president, per Politico.
“Had I been President [Joe] Biden, when the Justice Department brought out indictments, I would have immediately pardoned him,” Romney said in an interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that will air Wednesday night. “Frankly, the country doesn’t want to have to go through prosecuting a former president.” Romney doesn’t support Republicans’ explicit support for Trump, calling it embarrassing and demeaning.
